ABOUT STILL AFLOAT
A few months prior to production, I took a trip to Puerto Rico with some of my friends. I was expecting to come away with some great memories, but I received so much more. I learned that Puerto Ricans truly love like no one else. I immediately felt at home on this small island and even though it was after the storm, they still held their heads high and were proud of their home. After all of this tragedy, I was immediately inspired to tell the story of how their spirits are still afloat.

Still Afloat was produced at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Willie’s Pinchos restaurant also located in Orlando is featured prominently in the film. Archival footage from Hurricane Maria are from various news sites but the footage during the credits is actual footage shot by the crew in Puerto Rico.
